Hotel Miramonte

The staff were so sweet and accommodating. They looked after our rooms, kept our food in the front desk fridge one night, and were lovely with our 9 month old, even bringing him a toy. Our second-floor suite was spacious, with a table, two chairs, a couch, and two beds. I liked the sheets and covers, and the pillow felt just right for my military neck. I even considered buying one. The AC ran cold, and the TV had YouTube, Netflix, and other sign-in accounts, though I didn't use it. Breakfast was usually eggs, beans, biscuits, plantains, and vacita cheese, and I enjoyed it. Weekend nights can get really loud, so having white noise handy helps. There was no hot water in our sink, but it didn't affect us, and the shower had hot water. Maybe other rooms were different, but I didn't ask. We could also have used a hand towel and another bathroom towel. It was a great experience.

Hotel Miramonte was my first hotel outside the U.S., and I thought it was a great place. Check-in and checkout were easy, and the staff understand English. The hallways almost constantly smelled of Fabuloso, which made it feel like the staff cleaned the rooms a lot. My room had very large beds that took up much of the floor space, though that wasn't necessarily bad. The TV was an early 2000s box type that made a static sound and had no remote, so you had to use its buttons. Some friends had flat screens, while others had no TV at all, so it wasn't a big concern. The AC broke down often, and we'd return to rooms that were still hot and muggy in the evening. Staff were able to fix it eventually. The bathrooms worked normally. I wouldn't drink the tap water in El Salvador because of health concerns about the water. Breakfast was free for guests. There wasn't a huge selection, but it was interesting and tasted good, even if it was different from the American food I'm used to. Options included beans, eggs, tiny potatoes, plantains, bread rolls, fruit chunks, a few other things, and orange juice. Some of it made my stomach hurt, though I figured it was because the food didn't have the chemicals I'm used to. The staff were really nice and checked that we were comfortable. Don't go outside the hotel after dark. I'd recommend the place.

I stayed here while in El Salvador for Miss Universe 2023. It's very convenient, close to Metrocenter and Real Intercontinental Hotel, with nearby bars and restaurants. Taxis and Uber are easy to get, and there are security guards around, so it felt pretty safe. The hotel stays locked, and you buzz to get in. Nothing was stolen while I was there. Breakfast is included. I highly recommend it.

The breakfast was fantastic, though it isn't a buffet, and there's a restaurant on site too. Staff are there around the clock. It's also a handy spot, about five minutes from Metrocentro mall, with plenty of bars and restaurants along the way. Some rooms have porches. Good service and very affordable, probably the best value for the money.
