Novo Hotel & Suite

We’ve stayed here three times and will probably come back whenever we’re in San Salvador. It’s good value, conveniently located, and the staff are friendly. Some rooms look a bit dated, but that’s no big deal for the price. Veronica, the resident masseuse, is unbelievably good. Ask reception for her number; she has her own massage room at the hotel.

The restaurant was a highlight, good value and set in a lovely green spot by the pool. The front desk staff were friendly. Overall, the hotel was good: large rooms, decent beds, strong AC, and good rates. The main downside was the Wi-Fi. In my room it was a terrible 2 Mbps when it stayed connected, and in the courtyard it was 5 Mbps. If they fixed the Wi-Fi, they could easily charge more.

We had a great 4-day stay, with a good location, staff, and facilities. Breakfast was decent, and the place felt worth the money. The rooms have stairs between the entrance and the room on every floor. That’s manageable unless you have mobility issues or need to carry a stroller. We also couldn’t lock our back door, though we didn’t mention it to staff. We would have booked two rooms for another 4 days, but they weren’t willing to offer a discount. That was fine, so we stayed somewhere else.

We come back every year when we visit El Salvador and have never had a bad stay. The staff are always a pleasure and really helpful, and the restaurant serves absolutely fantastic, authentic food. With all the natural scenery and flowers around, this is a must-stay for us.
