Hotel Brunette

We kept extending our stay, four times in all, because it felt so easy to settle in here. Even though the place is fancier than where we'd normally stay, we were comfortable lounging around and being ourselves. The room felt luxurious, and having a hot shower in Santa Ana was a dream. The shared spaces are beautiful, and the staff were lovely. The location is hard to beat. I’m so grateful we found this gem, I can’t rate it highly enough.

The location was fantastic, and we could walk everywhere we needed to go. The room was a decent size, but its closet was unusable because of all the mold. Pigeons kept banging on the plastic ceiling day and night, and the patio, lobby, and room all felt dirty and needed cleaning. There was no hot water. Staff tried to fix it, but somehow the water pressure got even worse. We also asked the hotel to arrange a shuttle, but the receptionist forgot, leaving us without one.

I turned up without a reservation shortly before midnight, and the reception was open all night with a very friendly person there. I had an issue with the shared room, but they handled it really well and offered me a better room for the same price. They checked more than once that I was comfortable, and I felt well looked after. The open area is inviting, breakfast was very tasty, and there's free coffee. Thanks so much for the stay!

The church is right next door, so its bells carry into the hotel. If you're a light sleeper or like to get up late, that could be a problem. For me, the vibe and location were great, the rooms were big, and there was plenty of shared space. Hot water and coffee were always available. I loved the place.
