The hotel looks very grand, and the staff are friendly. A golf buggy takes you to your room. The location by the river is good for visiting the floating market, but there isn’t much else around, so it’s not somewhere I’d spend a long time. The pool is down the road outside the hotel, which is inconvenient if you aren’t dressed for the walk. There were no seats or anywhere to get food or a drink, and it wasn’t very clean. The restaurant and cafe open at 9:30am and close at 9pm, which feels early. They’re also quite expensive compared with most places nearby.

The building looks grand, though the rooms feel dated. Staff are very polite, and the shower has hot water, but Wi-Fi in the rooms is limited. The bar is expensive. The pool wasn’t very clean, has no seating except for the pool rooms, and doesn’t seem suitable for large groups. There is a free go kart shuttle around the complex.

We only visited the cafe and museum, not the hotel. The indoor museum, which is free, took us back to the 70s and 80s. The owner has put a lot of effort into the hotel’s decor and furnishings, with many special artifacts. There’s also a Hinduism corner displaying the owners’ collection, said to be worth multiple millions of dollars. Very nice of them.

The service stood out from the start. Check-in was quick, and the staff member who helped us was friendly and considerate. On my second day, the female staff members were welcoming and happy to answer my questions about the hotel’s history and the local area. The person at the omelette station deserves a special mention. They went out of their way to find particular items for my friends and had them waiting for me at the front desk. I’ve worked in luxury hotels, so I don’t give praise like this lightly. This is an amazing hotel, and I highly recommend it if you’re looking for somewhere in the area.
