Gorillas Amphawa Resort

I really like how private this place feels. The bedroom and bathroom were clean, and there was a spot right outside the room where we could sit for dinner by the water and enjoy the surroundings. Breakfast and coffee were ready in the morning. It's close to the market, so I wouldn't need to look for somewhere farther away. I'd stay here again.

You can borrow or rent bicycles and motorbikes here, and there's also a chance to give alms to monks in the morning. Breakfast is included. The rooms sit beside the river and are lovely, with a great atmosphere and plenty of privacy. The service felt warm and friendly, and the resort owner is lovely. I'd say it's worth staying here at least once, and I can see why people would want to return again and again.

The garden was lovely and shady, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning cooled the room well, and the floating market was nearby. Those were the few good points on my first trip to Amphawa. The rooms were run-down, and the bathroom was filthy and dilapidated, with stains in both the sink and toilet. Staff couldn't communicate well with each other, which made things difficult. I had booked three nights but got only half a roll of toilet paper, and there was no Wi-Fi despite being told there would be. I'd look for breakfast elsewhere. I was so disappointed that I could manage just one night and gave up the other two.

We stayed in the garden area. It was clean, the service and breakfast were good, and my husband and I loved all the trees. The room was a little small, but otherwise it was okay.
