Zabava Guest House

The rooms are basic, though the WiFi was reliable and the beds were comfortable. The place is across from the beach, down an alley. For the same price, I'd choose somewhere with free breakfast or a pool. The staff member tried hard to help, but the balcony room wasn't insulated, so the AC couldn't cool it and we switched rooms. He kept the money for the downgrade. On our last night I asked if he could change the lock, rather than waiting.

The room was clean and spacious, the WiFi worked well, and the AC was fine. We had no noise issues, and the staff were friendly in person and quick to answer an email question. The bed was so comfortable it made leaving the room difficult. We stayed four nights. Zabava is very close to the beach, though Ao Nang Beach itself isn't especially nice. You can take an airport shuttle bus straight to the hotel, and the price was reasonable. Our balcony mostly faced nearby buildings, with only a partial ocean view, so don't count on a great one. As far as I know, breakfast wasn't an extra charge, though I don't know if it's included in every room or always available. We had toast, butter, jam, fruit, coffee and tea.

The beds were the most comfortable I've had in a hotel, and the rooms were clean and serviced daily. There's free WiFi, two bottles of water per day, friendly staff and AC in the rooms. Zabava is right in the heart of Aonang beach, handy for the water, restaurants, shops and taxis. If you're after an inexpensive place near food and things to do in the Krabi area, it works well.

You can walk to the beach, and food is easy to find everywhere. The beachside restaurants can be pricey, but there are cheaper options a little farther away that are still within walking distance. The staff were nice, and the massage place beside the hotel gave good service too. The location is really convenient.
