I had a wonderful experience when the previous owners were running the place, and the location is great. But since the new owners took over, the hotel has gone downhill. The staff have been unfriendly and unwilling to help, and during my last two stays I found ants in the rooms, clogged drains, beds and closets coming apart, and dirty washing machines that made my clothes smell even worse. I’d stayed here four times, but I won’t book again. On my most recent visit they suddenly told me to leave because the rooms were “fully booked,” even though the building looked mostly empty. After being a respectful, long-term guest, I couldn’t make sense of it. It’s the inconvenience that made me stop coming, not the amenities.

A very bad stay. The mattress was extremely hard, and the hotel staff didn’t speak a word of English.

It’s clean and quiet, with nice staff, and good value for money. Ban Chang is convenient to get around from here, though it’s not a holiday destination. It may be difficult if you don’t speak Thai.
