Oriole Residence

The breakfast buffet was the best we’ve seen on our travels, and the woman working there was lovely. Our room was huge, with a very comfortable bed and a good shower. We booked for one night before an early flight, and it worked out so well that we’re coming back in six weeks with friends and have booked again. The airport transfer was free and arranged on time, with a friendly driver. Reception also pointed us to a traditional Thai cafe behind 7eleven. The food was great, and the cold beers were a very good price.

The housekeeping team and shuttle drivers were wonderful, but after our second stay, we won’t return. Our first visit was great; this one was a nightmare. I had clearly told the front desk when booking that our flight landed at 2:30 am so we could catch the shuttle. At the airport, the attendant didn’t know who we were and couldn’t find our name. We had a huge argument with her, and the front desk had booked the shuttle for the wrong day despite me giving the correct one. When we finally got to the hotel, the front desk offered no apology. We booked the same room as last time, but this time there was no hot water at all, and the WiFi was down most of the time. Breakfast was terrible too, with cold hot food and watery eggs, and the front desk staff were unfriendly. It’s sad because our first stay was awesome. They’ve gone downhill, and we’ll book somewhere else next trip.

A great transit hotel for the money, as long as you’re not expecting luxury. Oriole residences replied to my emails really quickly, and the free shuttle to and from the airport was great. My room looked newly renovated and was clean, with a hairdryer. The breakfast selection was amazing!

The price is reasonable, and this is a great place for a short stay near the BKK airport. The shuttle runs every hour, arrived on time, and was wonderful. Drivers were friendly, and the front desk staff spoke good English. My room was comfortable and had the amenities I needed, including a refrigerator, toothbrush kit, comb, slippers, robe, and shampoo. With my early morning flights, I didn’t get to try the buffet, but they offered a nice takeaway breakfast box with OJ, a sandwich, and a croissant. The hotel doesn’t serve dinner, though there are a couple of evening food places on the main road about a five-minute walk away. There are vending machines on site too.
