Na Nicha Bankrut Resort

If you're after a quiet, relaxed stay, this is a hidden gem. Ban Krut and Na Nicha Resort are absolutely recommendable.

It's an affordable option even for someone traveling alone, and the train station is nearby. The hotel feels fairly new, with modern amenities that work well, cozy rooms, a nice bed, soft pillows, and clean sheets. There's plenty of parking for vans, cars, motorbikes, and bicycles, and the pine-lined beach is an easy walk away. Totally worth staying here.

We were glad it was only a one-night stay, and we'll choose another hotel or resort next time we're in Ban Krut. The supposed superior room with a supposed pool view was a disappointment. The toilet seat wasn't even attached when we arrived, and you could only catch a glimpse of the pool by standing next to the TV. It didn't feel superior.

The beach is close and the place is quiet, but the stay was very basic. The packed bento breakfast came with juice only, no coffee. Reception shuts at 9 pm, so check in before then. There were lots of insects around, especially mosquitoes. I killed three in the lobby, and found more in my room. They seemed used to air-conditioned rooms, perhaps because the air conditioning wasn't strong. The room had little to offer: nowhere to put the toilet roll, a loose, shaky toilet seat, and tiny tears and holes in the towels and pillowcases. The shaved soap seemed intended to help the environment, but with wet hands it would just get wet and contaminated. Many people have mentioned the limited facilities and service.
