The owner’s behavior was unacceptable, especially the blatant lying and gaslighting to my face. I’d told the staff member several times when I arrived that I needed to stay for a week or more, and he confirmed it. I also sent messages about my plans. Then he got some slightly more expensive bookings for the following weekend and suddenly said there was no room for me at all. He didn’t offer another room, and I wouldn’t have stayed anyway. I lost three hours at the last minute trying to find somewhere else, when I had a lot of work to do. I was disgusted, and didn’t regret leaving. The hotel is central, but tucked into a shabby alley, and it’s fairly old and worn down. I think the photos on Google//Booking are fake; look at the photos “from visitors.” The air conditioning is badly placed and/or extremely aggressive. There’s no night or quiet mode: it blows like a hurricane at full force, but if you switch it off, the room gets unbearably hot within 30 minutes, even at night. I could forgive the condition if the price were right, but not the owner’s behavior. I don’t recommend it.

The owner was kind and responsive when I had a request. My flight was late, so I messaged him, and he stayed up to find me and welcome me to my room. There’s no grand lobby, but the room was very clean and had everything I needed. It was quiet, and the air conditioning worked well, so I slept fine despite the heat outside. Karen beach is a nice walk away.

The restaurant and hotel are run by a lovely family, and the food and service were great. The spot is tucked away from the main road but still within walking distance of shops, places to eat, and the beach. It’s a great little nook, and I’d definitely recommend it for families too.

The host was so friendly, the room was clean, and breakfast was delicious. It’s a five-minute walk to the beach, and parking is available. I’d definitely come back.
