5 Minute Hostel

The toilets smelled unbearable, and I found a dead cockroach in the shower. The place was so dirty that calling it extremely dirty feels too kind. Bedbugs were in the bed and blanket, and even around reception. Run away. This hostel is the worst in Thailand, and anyone with any dignity should stay far away.

For a few nights before another place or a flight, this could do. It’s cheap and well placed for public transport. Getting from Suvarnabhumi airport is easy by train, with about a 35 to 45 minute ride to the last stop and then roughly a 10-minute walk. The staff and other people there were sweet, and the common areas were okay. The rooms were just okay too, with somewhat hard beds. There seemed to be a risk of bed bugs, though I think I was lucky and didn’t get any. The bathrooms, on the other hand, were downright disgusting. I’m rarely sensitive about this sort of thing, but one toilet wouldn’t flush properly, so there was shit in it for the whole 2-3 days I was there. Some parts of the walls looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a decade. I can only recommend it for a short stay. I wouldn’t suggest staying longer unless they make major improvements, especially to the bathrooms and bedrooms.

The toilet was the worst part, unbelievably dirty and smelly. I can’t explain how bad the smell was, and the water pressure barely worked. I’ve never seen such a dirty place. Please don’t book this shitty hostel, it was a total waste of money.

The main plus is the location: the direct train station to suvarnabhoomi airport is only 500 metres away, and it’s handy for nearby attractions, Platinum Mall, and MBK mall. It’s a cheap, budget-friendly stay for solo travelers, and the hostel is neat and clean. The rooms inside look neat and good, though they have a very light smell, as is common. My only disappointment was that the AC runs only from 9pm to 9 am. Everything else was good.
