Amber Boutique Silom Hotel

The room was clean, tidy, and roomy enough for two of us to have space. The bathroom was clean too, the room didn’t feel worn out, the bed was comfortable, and housekeeping did a good job. The hotel is tucked away from the main street, so it’s quiet, but still well placed for getting around. I’d recommend staying here.

I checked out without staying and found another hotel nearby. Room 103 felt unsafe to me, and when they couldn’t move me, I refused it. First there was a towel draped across the entrance step. The room was fairly large, but had an odd, unpleasant smell. There was also a freestanding dehumidifier/A/C unit, which seemed strange since the two fixed A/C units appeared to work. It was on the ground floor, with only a small patio door for natural light. Behind it was a dark, narrow, secluded alley, which immediately made me think about security. I tried to set that aside, but then noticed tape on every electrical socket beside the bed saying they couldn’t be used. I went to reception to ask for a different room, but was told they were fully booked. The bathroom was small, with only a shower curtain separating the shower from the toilet. The sole basin was outside the bathroom, in what looked like the kitchen area.

I come back here every year I visit Thailand because it’s near the morning market. The rooms are clean, simple, quiet, and a decent size. It has everything I need.

A nice little breakfast to start the day, good rooms, and lovely staff. It’s perfectly placed on a small side road. They also let us leave our luggage while we traveled to other places. Thanks again for that!
