ASAI Bangkok Chinatown

We stayed a week in a Roomy King Courtyard with my wife. The hotel is surprisingly quiet in the middle of the city, perhaps because of the good insulation. The bed was firm, but comfortable for me. The breakfast buffet had plenty, though if you’re there several days, I’d try local flavors too. The rooms and facilities looked modern and were well designed. It’s easy to get around Bangkok from here, with a train station nearby and lively Chinatown within walking distance, active from morning until late at night. One thing that confused me at first: in Grab, the address shows as “I'm Chinatown,” the name of the building. The hotel is on its top floors.

We arrived well before check-in, but the hotel kept our bags so we could return once the room was ready. We stayed two nights in January 2026, and both the hotel and our room looked modern and were very clean. My wife and I would recommend it to anyone staying in Chinatown. The location is terrific, near the metro and local markets. There are two massage places right across the street, a 7/11 underneath, and lots of food and snack shops in the attached mall. Breakfast had a good range of choices, though it was mostly the same both days apart from two Thai dishes that changed. Ask for slippers, a toothbrush, cotton swabs, and a shower cap, since they aren’t provided by default.

I traveled with my family, and we were disappointed. I was given two room cards, but only one worked for my dorm room. When I went to reception about it, the guy kept looking at his computer and didn’t listen, just asked for the room number. He said he’d get me another card as soon as possible, but I waited another day for it. The owner should train the staff to treat customers with more respect.

The room was comfortable and good value, and the staff were friendly and smiling. I did notice that the walls didn’t block sound very well, but I got lucky with quiet neighbors. The hotel is near the MRT in Chinatown, with a 7-11, Starbucks, Watsons, restaurants, street food, massage spa, and cafes around it. It’s also easy to walk around and visit the riverside. I’d be happy to stay here again.
