Aspira Tropical Residence Thong Lor

My laundry came back still dirty. My room didn't have a washer, so staff did it for me, and I paid for detergent. It seemed to have been run through the machine for only five minutes. I also had to change rooms after two or three pigeons started nesting on the balcony, in the air conditioner generator outside. I was concerned that turning on the AC could send pigeon droppings and bacteria into the air. The place didn't feel professional or clean, and the rooms aren't maintained.

This quiet spot in the middle of the Japanese district is away from the crowds and a little removed from the roads. That makes it a good place to rest before heading back to the busy streets. Use Grab. It may not suit people staying just one night, more those living in Thailand who aren't in a rush.

The room was decent for the price, but the cleaning was awful. I found used tissues under the sofa, stains in the bath, and loads of dust behind the curtains. Unhygienic, can't recommend it.

All the employees I dealt with, from reception to the parking attendants, were kind and helpful. I liked how quiet the area around the residence in Thong Lo was, and although it's a bit away from the main spots, getting a Grab was easy. I stayed in a one-bedroom unit and had a pleasant time overall. There were a few ants in the room, which was uncomfortable. The bed frame was old, with a bit of wood sticking out that scratched my leg. If those things were taken care of before check-in, the stay would be even better. I'd still recommend the place.
