The food choices nearby are great, and there are good coffee places too. It's also only a 10-minute walk to the river, where you can catch a boat to some destinations, though that doesn't help with everywhere you might want to explore. The location is peaceful and a 7/11 is very close, but the trains don't come very near either. I stayed in private room 309. We got bitten badly by bugs, though I don't know how they got inside. The hostel itself is almost too quiet, with people seeming uninterested in chatting, so it can feel boring. I'd suggest it for a couple who just need somewhere to sleep.

I picked this hostel expecting organized activities and a social feel, but neither was there. My bed was very uncomfortable, and I left a day early because of back pain. The shower was cold and cleanliness overall was poor. I can't recommend staying here, and I can't recommend booking transport through them either. I paid Back Home Backpackers 600 THB for a minivan to Kanchanaburi. The night before, I asked staff how to get there, and the man on duty recommended the minivan and accepted my payment. Instead, I was dropped at a bus terminal and put on a public bus without my agreement. It was leaving much later, so I bought another ticket for 120 THB. I could have booked that bus myself, and I was charged 600 THB for a service I never got. It cost me more, wasted time, caused stress, and disrupted my plans. When I asked for a full refund, they offered only 300 THB and ignored my follow-up. They said they'd stop working with the transport company, but that doesn't make up for not taking responsibility and shifting the blame. Staff had advised me and taken my money, so the experience felt like a scam. They later replied to my review saying they'd refunded me, but they hadn't. I refused the 300 baht offer because this was their responsibility and I shouldn't have to bear the consequences. They ignored my request for a full refund, then suddenly answered the public comment. I had already bought a bus ticket myself because otherwise I would have waited another 45 minutes at the bus station to catch a bus, instead of taking the minivan directly from the hotel to Kanchanaburi. So I had extra costs as well. Honestly, they're scammers. About the beds, all of them are bad. I saw several other guests say the same in their reviews, so they're lying again. Sure, some people won't mind sleeping on something like a wooden plank. I also can't recommend this hostel for transport or accommodation. Future guests should know the service might not be as advertised and the hostel may not take responsibility when something goes wrong.

The area around here is calm and cozy, with pretty much everything you need. Khaosan Road is close enough, but not right on top of you. I came for three nights and stayed the whole week. I booked a private room, so I can't say what the other rooms are like, but I slept like a baby. The staff are super friendly, helpful and cool. They also organize events if you're looking for things to do. It's a great spot to meet people, or just take it easy on your own. Definitely coming back. Thanks, guys!

It was a two-hour ride out of the city, then just one hour at the floating market, followed by another two-hour ride back. There's a great floating market only 30 minutes from the city center, so why send guests so far? We weren't given the right information when the hostel sold us the tour. They said pickup was at 8:30am for a 9:30am tour. That was a lie: pickup was at 8:30, but the market visit didn't start until 12pm. I don't understand why the hostel advertises this and lets guests get ripped off. Do not book with them!
