Bangkok Palace Hotel

Breakfast was decent but very standard, and service felt average. The staff were polite, though not especially attentive, and check-in and other requests took longer than I expected. The large hotel sits in a reasonably convenient part of Bangkok, with shopping areas and attractions fairly easy to reach. Its grand lobby gives it an old-fashioned luxury feel, but the rooms show the property's age. The furniture and interiors are dated and need renovation. Cleanliness was acceptable, not impressive, and the room wasn't as comfortable as I expected for a hotel this size. It could suit someone after a budget-friendly stay in a central location, but don't expect a modern or luxurious experience. Refurbishment and better service would make a big difference.

I'm a hotelier from India, and I rarely leave Google reviews, but this stay was an exception. We got early check-in at noon even though we arrived around 8:30 am and the normal check-in time is 3 pm. That was the one positive. The Agoda photos were completely different from what we found. The area was very dirty, though there was lots of Indian food available around the hotel. The property is badly maintained, with cockroaches in the room, old rooms and cracks in the walls. There were no charging points by the bedside. We got two small complimentary water bottles per day, then were charged 36 baht per bottle. I also observed what seemed to be racism toward Indian guests. Staff were very rude to Indian customers and acted as if they were doing us a favour.

The ground support staff were the exception, but otherwise the staff were very rude. The hotel looked nothing like its online photos, and it was not at all comfortable for wheelchair users. I was injured and needed a wheelchair on the last day. We booked online as we usually do when travelling. My own experience wasn't just bad, it was very, very bad. The price we paid was more than double the hotel's actual price. Please think carefully before booking and consider other options.

A good hotel for a holiday, right in the heart of Bangkok with plenty of parking. Guests get complimentary breakfast, and the food was tasty. The continental options were good, as were the Indian puri bhaji and South Indian dosa, with juice and fresh fruit included too.
