Bangkok Rama Hotel

I arrived at midnight to find frogs and strange insects making noises outside. Inside, the furniture was old and poorly maintained, the room had insects and dead bugs, and a gecko was making noise behind the wardrobe at night. I was too scared to open my luggage. The washbasin was too small to use, there were no cups, and I had to drink water with my hands to brush my teeth. The online photos showed writing desks, but none of the rooms had one, and there was no desk in any suite. I also didn't get the Wi-Fi password at check-in, which was inconvenient as a nomad. I called to ask the next morning, and staff brought it on printed paper 10 minutes later. Both the missing password at check-in and the delay were below average service. I booked three nights through the ctrip agent, but left after the first because the conditions were so bad. The hotel refused to refund the other two nights. I think both ctrip and the hotel should refund them because the hotel provided fake pictures, showing a desk that wasn't in any room. As I said, I didn't like the hotel's service standards or its attitude toward customer feedback. Very unprofessional. When I left, I noticed other rooms had bedridden elderly people and hospital-style beds. It made me think the property might be a converted nursing home renting out rooms. I'll never return, no matter how cheap it is. The keychain was also so large it wouldn't fit in a bag.

The local houses have all the amenities, and there's a swimming pool too. After check-in, they take you to your room by golf cart, which makes a great first impression. A wonderful hotel with super friendly staff. I highly recommend it.

The service was good and the pool was nice. The rooms are big, single-level studio apartments, and they have a golf cart to take you to yours. I had to walk about a kilometer to find a good restaurant. It's a good hotel for the price, though not excellent.

I booked five days here in August, but found a big cockroach at night after the second day. I checked out the next morning and booked another hotel. Reception didn't even ask why. My money was wasted here. Cockroach!
