Barn and Bed Hostel

There’s plenty to explore within an easy walk, and the hostel is above a coffee shop and craft beer place, though we couldn’t hear anything from upstairs. It’s quiet rather than a party hostel. The rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable, including the bunks, which were long enough for my tall spouse. Staff were welcoming, and someone at the front desk pointed us to a great nearby restaurant. Laundry is available, and there’s a tiny kitchenette with a microwave and fridge.

The calm atmosphere was lovely, and I especially liked the floor with a nook for reading and watching T.V. Barn & Bed was clean and well looked after. I’d be excited to stay again.

Being right by the BTS is handy, but the hostel also sits beside a main road, so passing traffic can be noisy late into the night. The cubicle stayed warm for quite a while even with the aircon on, only cooling down late at night. There’s no aircon from 12pm to 4pm, and it gets very warm and uncomfortable then. If you need an afternoon nap, this probably isn’t the place for you.

There’s lots of great food right outside, and the location is excellent. The hostel itself is solid, with clean, air-conditioned rooms. But there are no lockers on site. The cabinets attached to the beds have no keys, according to reception. When I asked about it, I was told it was very safe there, but that didn’t reassure me when I had valuables I couldn’t risk losing. I had to find somewhere else to leave them.
