Preme Hostel

The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, the price was reasonable for the location and standard, and they provide one free bottle of water per room. Terminal 21 Shopping mall is nearby, and the hostel is well placed. The big problem is noise. There’s an open-air restaurant right outside the window playing loud music, so unless you’re exhausted, it can be hard to sleep until late. The receptionist wouldn’t say whether it was noisy, which we understand now. If you can put up with the sound or tune it out, the place is perfectly okay. They ask for ID from everyone staying in the room, not just the person who booked, and take double copies of everything. There’s also a 300B deposit. So if you’re being chased by Interpol, this isn’t the place to stay.

The rooms are quite large and the staff are well behaved, but there’s no elevator, so carrying all your baggage up the stairs is hard. Breakfast should be included for the room rent. The location is the best part: a BTS station is nearby, and Terminal 21 is within walking distance from Preme Hostel.

The deluxe room was decent and good value, and there’s plenty nearby to eat or do: street food across the road at sukhumit 20, plus massages, cafes, and local restaurants within walking distance. It’s also within walking distance of the BTS and MRT. The toilet pipes make strange, loud noises regularly, even in the middle of the night, which gets a bit annoying. On our last night a giant black crocoach showed up. Luckily, overall it was still pretty good value for money.

Rooms are clean and it’s very well located, good value for the area. Since it’s just off sukhumvit and the windows aren’t double glazed, light sleepers might have trouble sleeping.
