We had a great stay. The room was fine, with enough room for a couple, though it wasn’t especially big. Khaosan is an easy walk away, but far enough that you’re not right in the middle of its noise. There’s a bar next door, so it can get a bit loud sometimes. My only small gripe was how far the sockets were from the bed and table.

The rooftop seating area and the lift are handy, and the hotel sits on a quieter stretch of the street while still being close to everything. It’s BB House, not BB House 2 around the corner on the busier part of Rambuttri. The staff were nice, with check-in at 1pm and checkout at noon. There are lots of useful little extras: free coffee downstairs, cheap instant noodles and sodas, water, toiletries, cotton swabs, shelves, a TV I didn’t use, and a comfy duvet and pillows. My room also had a window, which the last hotel I stayed at didn’t. My first-floor room had a pretty bad drain smell. Covering the shower drain with the trash can and putting a towel in the sink helped. I suspect the drains may also have been where the mosquitoes were coming from. There wasn’t an outlet near the bed, so I charged my phone on one of the shelves. Rooms on one side of the first three floors look straight at the neighboring building, but that didn’t bother me. You can pay extra for a rooftop room. It seemed really hot up there when the city was 98°, and I wondered if the air conditioning could handle it. This place isn’t perfect, but it may become one of my favorites. I’m planning to try BB House 2 next week.

The location worked well, though it isn’t near public transport. Our ground-floor room was noisy at night and early in the morning. It also wasn’t clean, with a dirty toilet seat, sink, floor and surfaces, plus lots of flies. The staff were kind and cleaned after we asked, but the room still wasn’t close to perfect. The toilet made noise and didn’t flush properly. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it.

A good budget option for backpackers. Even though it’s on Rambuttri Street, the hotel is very quiet. The water was clean, and the air conditioning, fridge and other equipment all worked properly. WiFi worked well too.

The room was comfortable and clean, and the price was affordable. With restaurants, supermarkets and other nearby amenities easy to reach, it’s a very good place to stay in the heart of Khao San Road.
