Bed To Bangkok - Hostel

The rooms are really small, so there wasn’t much space for luggage and the lockers were too small. The bathroom was spacious and really nice, and the bed was nice and roomy, though I wish the curtain blocked more light. I stayed one night before catching the train, and the location worked well for that. There’s a lot of construction around the hostel right now, including downstairs, but it didn’t bother me too much. The receptionist who welcomed me was very kind. The one at checkout seemed disinterested, didn’t acknowledge me, and was on his phone.

I left without booking a room because I felt completely disrespected, and this visit left me with a very negative impression. I wouldn’t recommend the hostel based on how I was treated. I arrived around 6:00 a.m. after travelling from Pattaya, knowing an early check-in might be difficult. I politely asked the receptionist if I could use the washroom while waiting, but he refused without suggesting an alternative. I asked several times, and each time he dismissed me harshly and rudely. I understand that early check-ins aren’t always possible, but the lack of basic courtesy and customer service was shocking. Treating travellers kindly and with understanding should be basic in hospitality, especially when welcoming people from other countries.

A big issue to consider before booking: there was major construction right in front of the hostel. The road was closed to vehicles, and pedestrians had to use a temporary walkway covered in sand, cement, and puddles. I’d ask the hostel whether the work is finished before booking. Aside from that, it’s a clean hostel with good facilities and a good location, about a 20-minute walk to Chatuchak market. The room, shared bathrooms, aisle, stairs, and common areas were all clean. Instant noodles, bread and jam, and water were available in the dining area. The Wi-Fi signal was very weak in the room, but still stable and fast.

After spending our first night in Bangkok in a tiny, dirty, noisy room in the Khoa San area, we were so glad to find somewhere quieter and clean. The rooms and shared bathrooms are nice, and the whole place is clean. They have complimentary cookies and crackers, and there’s a mall and park nearby. It was also super easy to get to and from the airport by public transit or car. We were really stoked on this place and would absolutely recommend it if you’re after cheap but good accommodation in a quieter part of the city.
