Casa Vimaya Bangkok

The team made us feel welcome throughout our stay with their professional, attentive service. Breakfast was another highlight, varied and delicious every morning. And the rooftop pool was incredible, with a spectacular view across the Bangkok skyline. Our time at Casa Vimaya Riverside Bangkok was a delight from beginning to end. If you want a stylish, comfortable place in the heart of Bangkok that’s managed flawlessly, this is a perfect choice.

The staff are great and very helpful, and there’s a lovely rooftop pool, though it can get busy with kids dive bombing. Breakfast has a great choice, with a cook who’ll make what you want. You can eat on the nice terrace facing the river, but people smoke all over, including at breakfast near people eating and by the pool. There is a closed-off area if you want to avoid secondhand smoke, but the smoking still annoyed us and spoiled some of our enjoyment. Our room was lovely and good, if a little noisy, but the view was naff and there was an ashtray in the room. The entrance is down an alleyway and easy to miss. They give out free ice creams every day, and it’s a four-minute walk to Koh San road. A nice little hotel slightly away from the bustle. I’d recommend it if you’re a smoker.

The canal view from breakfast was lovely, and the breakfast choice was excellent. The breakfast staff were great, though another coffee machine is needed because the one there was incredibly slow. The porter was excellent too. Other staff were efficient but not very personable, and didn’t tell us anything about the hotel. I’d seen reviews mentioning welcome drinks, but we didn’t get any. The rooftop pool was lovely after a day sightseeing, although seeing a staff member clipping her nails nearby put us off. Our room was clean and had plenty of toiletries. It says balcony, but be aware it’s a Juliet balcony. The hotel is well placed for the hop-on hop-off ferry and canals, convenient for touring the city.

Susan, Kety, Boat, Bella, and Q were especially kind and helpful, and I really appreciated their support. The staff were professional, friendly, and always ready with advice or help with special requests. They even booked a restaurant for a birthday for us. The hotel is very clean and well located. It was a pleasure to be welcomed so warmly. Highly recommended!
