Chill Guest

The little pool was clean and cool, and we were the only guests using it. There’s a small gym space nearby with a few chairs and a fan. The building is a walk-up, so backpacks are no problem, but hauling large suitcases upstairs is a different story. The area stays quiet, though a couple of blocks toward the main roads it gets busy. There are shops close by, and we also took rides to places like Victoria gardens, which had fun things for kids. Our rooms had long desks, working WiFi, comfortable beds, towels, water, and TVs we didn’t use. In one room, the fridge was leaking a little, probably because it had been unplugged before we arrived. We cleaned up the water by the entrance and didn’t use it. The AC in that room also started leaking and stopped cooling properly. We told the owner, who came to look and offered to move us. We arrived around 4 a.m. and had to ring the bell a few times before the owner came out, since nobody was at the desk, but check-in itself was quick. The owners were quiet, and although we didn’t speak the language, Google Translate made communication easy. I liked the minimalist feel. It was a good short stay, and I’d recommend it for people travelling nearby.

There’s a 7-Eleven just around the corner, which came in handy. The staff were kind and helpful, and the place had a family-run feel. Our room looked more basic than the online photos suggested, but it did the job for the price since we mainly needed somewhere to rest after long days out.

Very poor parking, and it didn’t feel safe. I booked for three people, but the room wasn’t ready and only had a five-foot bed. I wouldn’t recommend it to visitors.

Honestly, I was treated like trash. I had to leave on a Friday when prices were through the roof, and now I have to go to work smelling like a garbage can. The owner seemed okay at first. We said thank you and that was it, then he banged on the door and complained about visas, making up stories, I felt, because my partner is from Myanmar.
