We stayed in Room 601, a two-bedroom apartment with plenty of space for a big family, two good-sized bathrooms with walk-in showers, and good-quality toiletries. The street and city views were random, the air-conditioning worked perfectly, and the bed was comfortable. The full kitchen worked well, and the rooms felt practical rather than like typical hotel rooms. Free WiFi worked throughout the property at good speed, and the big smart TV had sports, news, music, movies and entertainment in several languages. Staff looked after us with a smile and made us feel at home. Special thanks to NU from housekeeping for the lovely floral decorations, and MARK from the front office for a warm welcome. The breakfast was just juice, fruit, toast and coffee, and the bar was there, though I didn’t spend much time in it. The gym was very worn, with basic weights, workout stations and dated cardio machines. The pool wasn’t anything fancy either. It’s a straightforward, mid-range aparthotel, useful for short visits or longer stays, without luxury trimmings. The location is one of its strengths: it’s tucked at the end of Soi 8, a quiet residential street off Sukhumvit Road. Nana BTS and the main road are about an 8-10 minute walk away. I liked being far enough from the noise and crowds but still close to everything. On Soi 8 you pass massage parlors, tailors, restaurants and a couple of 7-Elevens.

The only thing that bothered me was the bed, which felt like a slab of concrete and aggravated my sciatica. Otherwise, it’s a nice, sizeable apart-hotel in a great location near BTS Nana, lots of restaurants and SW1 night market. There’s a restaurant onsite with good food at great prices, plus room service, a tuk-tuk shuttle around the local area, a small but useful pool and laundry. Plenty of closet space too.

We’d raved about this hotel enough to rebook, but the check-in didn’t go smoothly. They said they’d overbooked our room type and upgraded us to a two-bedroom place we didn’t need as a couple. At 4 AM on the first morning, we woke to a burning plastic smell and no electricity. They moved us to the type we’d booked, so I’m not sure why we weren’t put there from the start. There wasn’t much apology or help with the move. I got one free breakfast, but only after asking, and I didn’t want to risk the yoghurt in the powerless fridge. On the good side, the room was nice and quiet, the staff were friendly overall, and the free tuk-tuk takes you to the top of the road, which is quite a walk. We ate at the restaurant on our last day, and the pad Thai looked fantastic and tasted lovely.

It’s peaceful here, and the Nana BTS is a well-connected five-minute walk away. The free tuk-tuk runs 24 hours to and from the metro, which is a blessing. Our apartment-style room was beautiful, with a kitchenette, plenty of space, windows and natural light. Service was prompt whenever we asked for something. Breakfast isn’t much good for vegetarians, but there are plenty of options nearby, and having a kitchen helps. The pool is small, the gym is very well equipped, and the laundrette is great if it’s not on your floor. We had an amazing stay at Citadines and would happily recommend it or stay again.

A Tuk Tuk to Sukhumvit road, about 450 m away, was one of the best and most useful things about the stay. It takes you there from the hotel and back, and there’s a 24/7 [source text incomplete] very close by. The room was compact, but okay, with everything needed and a well-equipped kitchen area. Plenty of sockets too. WiFi was slow, but it worked. I was too early for breakfast to comment on it.
