Conrad Bangkok

The staff are what make the Conrad stand out. Prikwan was especially attentive, always smiling and kind, and went out of her way to help with requests. I felt looked after, which is why I came back and extended my stay. The location works well: it’s near Sukhumvit’s busy city life but feels quiet and secluded, with Lumpini and Benjakitti Park close by. The hotel connects to the Four Seasons Mall, which is handy. The Executive Lounge has nice views, snacks, and refreshments, and The Diplomat Bar has good drinks and live music. I’ve been upgraded to the executive floor on each booking so far as a Hilton Diamond member, and they promptly handled my request for a particular city view. It’s a beautiful property, but the professional staff are what give it its reputation.

The location was great, with a small mall connected to the hotel for essentials. We had warm greetings and an easy check-in, and the staff were great everywhere. Our room had everything we needed, a nice touch, and good views. There was plenty to enjoy around the hotel. The gym is spacious and has lots of machines, and both the sauna and steam room were great. The pools were nice too. Breakfast had a wide variety and good service, including halal food. The Executive Lounge had a nice selection throughout the day. During cocktail hour, they even brought the food to our room since kids aren’t permitted there.

The main problem for us was how The Diplomat Bar handled its happy hour deal. We ordered under a buy two, pay for one offer, but nobody explained that each person had to order two drinks individually to get one free. We only learned that when we went to the bar to pay, after finding no staff around to bring the bill. The drinks were quite large and decent, but the total was much higher than we expected. We had other plans and couldn’t stay longer. The condition should have been made clear before we ordered, and staff didn’t acknowledge the communication failure, insisting we pay the full bill. They later offered vouchers for the next night, but only during a two-hour window, which didn’t work with our plans. We agreed to a bottle of wine at checkout instead, but the next day nobody there knew about the arrangement. A manager was called, we waited another 15 minutes, then had to leave for our taxi. It was uncomfortable and poorly coordinated. The hotel itself offers good value. Rooms and shared areas are well maintained, and breakfast has a strong selection and very good food, though it gets crowded at busy times and some tables are too close together. The bar setting was pleasant and the drinks were alright. Still, the way the bar staff and management dealt with this left us disappointed and wasn’t what I’d expect from a Conrad.

We had an amazing stay in room 1819, and I’m writing this honestly, as someone who reads reviews carefully before booking. From arriving by taxi through check-in and the rest of our visit, everything was excellent. The whole hotel was superbly clean, and the service was top-class. Staff were professional, friendly, and smiling. You could tell they take pride in their work and care about their guests. If you’re traveling to Bangkok, I highly recommend staying here.
