Diamond City Hotel

The room lighting was dim, and there were a lot of mirrors, which might not suit everyone. But the room felt comfortable, the water was clean and the sheets were fresh. I’d worried about cleanliness, partly because of some reviews, and even brought my own filter, but didn’t need it. For the price, the quality was much better than I expected. The location was a big plus: I could walk to almost everywhere I wanted to go. Banthat Thong Road is nearby for food, and National Stadium is easy to reach. The area is lively, with two 7-Elevens close by. The staff were kind and attentive. My friend arrived very late, but they were still awake and ready to help, and handled everything carefully. I was unsure at first, but it turned out to be a great choice. I enjoyed the stay and would come back.

We had a lovely two-night stay at Diamond City Hotel, right in the heart of Bangkok. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained, with great amenities, and the food had a wide range of delicious choices. From our arrival, the owner and staff made my family feel welcome and cared for. The hospitality stood out most. We had a warm, memorable conversation with the owners, and as a Bhutanese person I felt proud when they spoke of their deep admiration for our King. Their faces lit up when they learned we were from Bhutan. Before we left, they gave us beautiful souvenirs, a gesture we’ll always cherish. I highly recommend Diamond City Hotel to travellers looking for a central stay and heartfelt hospitality.

We chose this hotel for two nights because the location seemed great for the price. We knew it was old and were okay with that, since we’ve stayed in older places before. Street parking wasn’t ideal, but manageable. The room was fairly okay and the shower room was clean. The room itself needs much better cleaning. We’re both very sensitive to dust, and our throats had been dry since the first night. Now we’re both catching a flu. We’ve travelled and eaten all over BKK without getting sick at any other hotel. Renovation is one thing, but cleaning is something they can improve now. This is an antique hotel that I believe has already made a fortune, so please put some of the operating cost toward cleaning.

Honestly, one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Bangkok. The rooms were well air conditioned, and the staff were friendly. If something came up, asking politely worked, they’d sort it out or find a solution, possibly with an upgrade.
