iCheck inn Mayfair Pratunam

The room was clean, with a big comfortable bed, though the decor felt rather old. It also smelled of Naphthalene, which bothered me. The hotel is quiet enough for a good night's rest, but I don't think the area is very good. The staff were kind, although their English was poor. Amenities were very limited, apart from the two bottles of water provided each day. I wouldn't return; I'd try another hotel.

For a budget stay aimed at shopping around the famous Pratunam area, this hotel is okay. The rooms are basic, clean, and decent for the price. Service was disappointing: even though we told them we'd arrive four hours after check-in time, the rooms still weren't ready, and it took a couple more hours. The staff weren't very courteous either.

The reception staff were good, and the food was average with limited variety. Getting transport can be difficult because the hotel is set back from the main area. Be careful with your belongings: after we checked out in the morning, we left our luggage in storage while waiting for a cab to the airport that night. When we collected it, our umbrella was missing. Staff initially tried to talk us into accepting the mistake, then eventually gave us an old replacement after we pressed them. I'd only just bought the original, so I lost it.

It was a little tricky to find the hotel, but the deluxe room was great. There was loads of space, with a safe, wardrobe, desk, armchair, and a bed wider than it was long. The bathroom was clean and seemed fairly new. You can't open the balcony doors because of “safety issues,” so you can't actually go out there. The rooftop terrace had a nice view.
