Wanderlust Bangkok Hostel

The hotel is set back from the main drag, with a 7-Eleven about a ten-minute walk away. There’s a police station nearby, and I felt safe walking along the street, safer than in major US cities. Remember that you’re a guest in Thailand, so respect the Kingdom’s laws, culture, and customs. The staff were friendly and helpful, the AC was cold, and the price was lower than nearby hostels. You get your own bedroom and bathroom, and there’s a washer and dryer on site. Breakfast is served. Be sure to agree on a taxi fare before getting in.

The service was okay and the staff can speak English. It’s cheap and close to the airport, so it’s fine as long as you don’t expect much. Toiletries aren’t provided, and towels cost 50 baht to rent.

The garden was nice, the breakfast sandwich was good, and it’s a little out of the way but close to the airport. That earns it two stars for me. The new facilities looked clean, but the shower was cold, and I was told soap costs 55 THB because it’s a business. There were ants on the wall, and the pillow was okay, though the loud planes made me want to plug my ears.

I stopped at Wanderlust just for a night before an early connection to Chang Mai. For about twenty dollars I got a clean private room with air conditioning, and the bath and shower combo was refreshing. They arrange an airport ride every hour, and mine cost 150 baht in the morning.
