Neighbor Phuthon

Neighbor Phuthon is on a quiet side street, so it was easy to unwind after the busy downtown streets. We could walk to many sights from there. Bai at the front desk was one of the nicest people you could meet, and his English was outstanding. Breakfast was delicious every morning. Where you stay really affects how much you enjoy Bangkok, and I’m glad we chose this place. I’d gladly come back.

We could get to Bangkok’s main sights on foot from here, so we didn’t need other transport. The Grand Palace was a 15-minute walk, Chinatown took 30 minutes, and the pier was also 30 minutes away, with very cheap public boats to Jim Thompson's house and the big shopping centers. The hotel sits on a quiet, peaceful square with delicious food. Our room was comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic, with something different each day. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful with tips. I’d absolutely recommend it.

The welcome was friendly, and the room was clean. I liked the firm bed. The Thai breakfast was decent, though the Wi-Fi was weak. The listing says “Garden view,” but mine faced the street. Restaurants are right next door, and the windows are only shutters, so light sleepers should bring earplugs.

Breakfast was generous and delicious, with different dishes each day, and the staff were lovely enough to do our laundry. The room was spotless and nicely set up, with wooden shutters I liked. It was quiet, and the inner courtyard has a charming feel. The bed was a bit firm, though that seems normal in Thailand. A couple of bedside lamps would make the room cozier. It was easy to get around town, including to major sights like the palace.
