Villa Siam and Spa

The location is perfect for getting to local sights, and I like this place. We stayed twice and never had any problems. The staff were kind and helpful, though English was a bit of a challenge. Google voice translate sorted that out. I’d recommend booking a room with AC only. You should expect the warm weather when you visit Thailand.

In the rain, water leaked in the common area and the AC leaked in the room. The place also felt generally run down and didn’t really look like the pictures. The staff spoke no English at all, weren’t helpful, and came across as grumpy. There were signs in English with a woman’s number. We did reach her, but she didn’t have much information or offer much help. I texted several times over two days and got no reply. The guest service was really poor. The “call center” woman must have another job, because I don’t think she’s ever on site. It may be okay if you just need somewhere to stay and already know Bangkok, but don’t expect help or a welcome, just a very basic room. If I could give zero stars, I would.

For about 3000 Bt for six nights, it was okay. The walls were really thin, though, and the bathroom was a bad experience. At least we had AC, and the Thai owners were really friendly.

I was charged 20 dollars when my booking had originally been for 10 dollars. After a long day on the bus, I just wanted to rest, so I paid the extra amount. The room was old, and the low-quality bed hurt my back. The bathroom was damp and moldy. I’m talking about a two-person room here. What you see in the pictures is nowhere close to what it’s like in person. The place is in a slum, down a very dark alley. Save your money and disappointment and stay somewhere else.
