The 63rd Hostel

The beds were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly enough, and the lockers are large with number codes. The staff didn't speak much English and are Burmese. The bathroom setup was odd and uncomfortable, with a tiny shower room and toilet room on either side of an open sink area with a curtain. People needing the toilet opened the curtain anyway, and there was no counter space by the sink. This definitely isn't a social hostel. The other guests seemed a bit odd, and the place didn't have a warm atmosphere or inviting shared areas.

It was my first hostel, and it worked perfectly for the overnight stop I needed. The location is handy for the train station and Gateway Plaza, where there are plenty of food choices on the ground floor and Asian food on the fourth. There's a nice massage spa right next door, a couple of doors up is a Ramen Noodle house with great Ramen, and there's also a brew house / pub if you want a drink. I'm over six feet tall and the bed was still big enough, with a privacy curtain. There's a lockable locker that fits a carry-on suitcase, plus a small desk and sitting area for work. The shared room has wifi and air conditioning, though everyone's got to agree on the temperature and fan speed. Coffee is free, and the shared shower and toilet facilities were clean, neat, and tidy. I'd recommend it for a cheap stay in a really convenient spot.

Such a brilliant place. It's affordable, quiet, very clean, has excellent Aircon and a central location, and the staff are friendly. Fresh sheets, towel, and duvet made for the best night's sleep. The owner and staff were so helpful: when I forgot my passport, they got it to me safely and quickly. They extended my stay with no fuss and were warm when I realized I'd missed checkout, with no fee. They also gave me a fresh towel when I wanted to freshen up before my flight, long after checkout, kept my bags safe, received deliveries, and gave me a discounted rate for a longer stay. Has to be the best hostel in bangkok k, if not Thailand!

I had a great two-night stay at the 63rd Hostel. It was spotless, which made it very comfortable, and the location is super convenient: Seven Eleven and Ekkamai are within walking distance. The owners are a group of responsible young guys who were extremely friendly and welcoming. I'd highly recommend the 63rd Hostel to anyone looking for a good place in the area.
