Jam Hostel Bangkok

My first hostel stay was at Jam Hostel, and it lived up to what I hoped for after reading the reviews. The four-person shared room was peaceful and very clean, and the facilities overall were great. Imm was especially welcoming and friendly, a real star at Jam Hostel. I'd stay there again without hesitation next time I'm in Bangkok.

One thing I appreciated was how peaceful it was at night. I slept properly, and the rooms were cleaned every day. If you want to go out partying, Mad Monkey is right next door, then you can come back to a quiet, comfortable place. Jam Hostel Bangkok also made it easy to meet people as a solo traveler, thanks to its daily activities and the respectful, social, positive crowd. The breakfast was really good, and the manager, Xi, and the rest of the staff were friendly, helpful, and always smiling. From arrival, the people and warm atmosphere made me feel comfortable. The staff, guests, and cleanliness all made for a great stay. I'll definitely return on my next Bangkok trip and recommend it to solo travelers or anyone who wants a balance of fun and rest.

A casual hostel with a real traveler feel, friendly staff, and good value for the money. I liked its common area and vibe more than Mad Monkey, which felt more commercial. The one annoyance is that the ground-floor common area's air conditioner is left off, so you have to switch it on and wait for the space to cool. Still, it's a nice place near Khao San.

Jam is especially good for solo travelers. If you make a bit of an effort, it's easy to make friends, and Xi and her staff work hard to give guests memorable experiences. From Monday through Saturday there are group outings, and they were easy, affordable, authentic, and fun to join. During my stay we visited Wat Arun, biked around a waterside neighborhood, went to a night market, and saw exciting muay thai fights at lumpinee stadium. The staff made it simple to enjoy Bangkok with friends. I had a clean, quiet, comfortable bed in a 4-bed room, and breakfast was provided each day, a great way to start the morning. I'd absolutely stay again and recommend Jam to solo travelers.
