Asoka Hotel

The room was affordable, and I liked my stay enough that I'd come back to Bangkok and stay here again. It's very close to the MRT blue line and the airport red line. My street-facing room was on the sixth floor, but noise wasn't a problem. There's a window, locked for safety. The room had a fridge, water heater, safe locker, TV, AC, a table and chair, two small bedside tables, and two bottles of water. Laundry was available for 50 baht. We arrived at noon, but couldn't check in before the stated 14:00 time, so we left our luggage and went to explore. The room and bathroom were clean, though I found two or three hairs on the sheets. In the bathroom, water didn't drain properly and pooled on the surface; without a proper partition, it spread around. There were no slippers in the room.

Getting here with luggage is easy: the Airport Rail Link station is only a few minutes' walk away, with no transfer needed. The MRT is close too, and transport is convenient. A 24-hour 7-Eleven nearby is handy for food, though there aren't other shops in the area. The hotel is newly opened, and the rooms feel clean and modern. One odd detail: taking out the key card when you leave also switches off the refrigerator, which I hadn't seen before. The bathroom had a strong drain smell, disappointing in a new hotel. I'd suggest it mainly to travelers who already know the Asoke area, as it may not suit newcomers.

May 2026: Clean and good value. It's a useful budget option for LDS members, just a two-minute walk from the temple. There's no breakfast, hair conditioner, or hotel slippers, and the bathroom is small. A 7-Eleven connects downstairs, and you can conveniently walk to the blue and red train lines or the water taxi. I took the train from the airport without any trouble. Free WiFi.

I had a quiet stay in a deluxe king room facing the back of this new, modern hotel. The bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was clean with no odors, and the lighting and A/C were good. The large smart TV was nice for watching Netflix. The bathroom was spotless, with strong water pressure, steady hot water, and cozy towels. Staff were friendly and spoke English. It's a quick commute to DMK, about 20 minutes by taxi, and an easy three to four minute walk on a wide sidewalk to MRT Phetchaburi station. Sukhumvit Terminal 21 mall is one stop away. The attached 7-Eleven is a nice extra. At check-in they require a 1000 baht cash deposit, or $30 USD. I only had a $100 bill, which they held and returned at checkout. I can highly recommend the hotel.
