The owner was kind and helpful, and after the cleaner had been through, the apartment was okay. We’d reserved a 3 bedroom apartment, but it felt tired, with signs of water damage in many places. One bedroom and bathroom had been renovated and were quite nice, though the rest was minimally decorated. The kitchen didn’t have enough utensils or crockery. Some of the other hotel floors looked much better, and the pool was great. Unfortunately, our floor was being used to store spare beds and mattresses. There are better value hotels in the area.

Mixed feelings about this place. The 3 bedrooms apartment worked well for a family or a small group of friends: each room had a queen size bed and attached toilet, and the rooms were wide and spacious. The beds were comfy, and the living and dining areas were awesome. The downside is that the place is quite worn out. Pubs and clubs close at 4 am, so it can get noisy.

The room’s location was handy, but staying on the road-facing side meant putting up with noise late into the night. The furniture is old and the closets smell, so I wouldn’t count on storing clothes there. The bathroom was average at best, with weak water pressure and not enough hot water for me to use the tub. The floor wasn’t in great shape either, though I didn’t make an issue of that. We spent three nights there in September 2022. I paid a separate cleaning fee and asked Darren and his staff when they’d clean. They said they don’t work weekends. After I pointed out the fee, Darren said he’d make an exception that time, but the room was never cleaned before checkout. There were two bath towels and two face towels when we arrived, and none were replaced or topped up. I washed them and tried to dry them on the terrace because there was no dryer, but intermittent rain kept soaking them again. When I asked for fresh towels, the response was, “This is not a hotel.” I wasn’t expecting hotel level service, but that was a disappointing answer, and changing towels didn’t seem like an unreasonable request. Keep expectations low here, maybe even lower than you think. These comments are only about the accommodation run by Darren. I haven’t stayed in the other operators’ units in the same building, so I can’t judge those.

The place itself was immaculate, with three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, plus a pool table and a full kitchen. It’s close to bars and restaurants, which was handy. Just know that the nearby bars and clubs played loud music until 2 or 3 am. We couldn’t sleep before they shut down. Great if you’re out partying late, but not much use if you want a full night’s rest.
