Micro Hostel

It was quiet and felt a bit like home, and everything was kept clean. There was always a hot shower, plus free shampoo and soap. The receptionist was kind too. I had a stomach ache and she gave me medicine at no charge. The location is right in the middle of the Pratunam area, close to everything in Bangkok, and it was a good deal for the price, especially for a solo traveler on a budget.

I ended up canceling and booking somewhere else, where the communication was polite and helpful. I wouldn’t recommend this hostel to anyone who expects respectful service. After I booked through Agoda, I needed to correct some information, but the staff answered rudely and unprofessionally. They even accused me of having booked and canceled before, which wasn’t true. The whole exchange felt unwelcoming and not customer-friendly.

The place was a mess and didn’t feel homely at all, so I’d look elsewhere. Calling the room private doesn’t really fit: a thin board separates it from the next room, and there’s no ceiling over the rooms. I could hear the person next door breathing.

I won’t return, even if every other hotel nearby is full. The staff were rude and sometimes aggressive, with the same attitude on both morning and evening shifts. When I asked the morning employee to show me the different room types, she handed me a key and told me to look by myself. My room was on the fifth floor, and because my luggage was a bit heavy, I asked for help carrying it upstairs. They said the auntie had already finished work and told me to wait for the evening shift. I ended up carrying it myself. That night, a man in the next room was snoring and keeping me awake. I was only looking through my luggage for something when the night staff member knocked and told me I wasn’t allowed to pack at night. The employees acted as if theirs was the only hotel in the area, and they had no smiles when speaking to guests. Do they interview people before hiring them?
