Matini Hostel Grandstation

The common room was a great place to get work done. I spent time at the marble tables with fresh coffee from the machine, and the hostel itself felt spacious and pleasant. It’s also an easy walk from the train station. The team were incredibly kind, even with the demands of a busy hostel. Restrooms and showers were kept tidy with regular cleaning, which made the place feel reliable. A great choice for both working and resting if you’re in the area.

I picked this for one night before my night train to Chiang Mai. The female dorm was quiet, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioning was set well, and I really liked the cozy blanket. The bathrooms and showers were excellent, with good water pressure. Staff were some of the friendliest I’ve met, and I felt welcome right away. They were always cleaning something, so the hostel was very, very clean. The common room is pleasant, and there’s free coffee, hot and cold water, a microwave, a large fridge, a toaster, and even an air fryer. Krung Thep Aphiwat Station is about a 10-minute walk away. One tip: ask the hostel staff for directions, since Google Maps sent me the wrong way. It works especially well as a short stopover if cleanliness and comfort matter to you. For a longer stay, it may be less convenient: most restaurants and 7-Elevens are about a 15-minute walk, along a route under an elevated road that I personally didn’t enjoy. That’s not the hostel’s fault, and there are more central parts of Bangkok if sightseeing is your main reason for being here. For clean rooms, comfort, and friendly service, I can absolutely recommend Martini Hostel. It delivers 1000 % on those things.

There’s a lively community of travelers here, and the rooms and facilities are nicely maintained. It’s close to Bang Sue, so getting around Bangkok or catching a train elsewhere in Thailand is easy. Great prices and location for people on a budget. Solo traveler approved, definitely a must stay!

I arrived at BKK hours before my train and used Matini hostel for luggage storage and a shower. For an affordable 150THB per person, you can leave your bags, go out, then come back for a quick shower before your train. The train station is only about a 10-minute walk away.
