If you enjoy stale tobacco smell in your room, on the sheets and somehow even coming from the towels, this may be your place. The walls are paper thin, with shouting and door slamming in Chinese as the soundtrack. The staff smile politely but seem to get nothing done. The social media photos made the place look charming and quirky, but up close it was so filthy my skin started itching. The kettle was crusted with old coffee residue, ready to flavor your morning drink. Showers were rarely hot, just lukewarm. Welcome to Faulty Towers, sorry, The Mespace Garage. More like a grim little cesspit. Stay at your own peril.

The price was reasonable for three days and two nights. The receptionist was cheerful and friendly, and housekeeping did a good job while respecting my belongings. The room was clean and pretty, though a bit dark. I liked the unusual place and its youthful decor, which gave it a fresh feel.

The bathroom floor was slippery, there was a dead cockroach on the room floor, and the toilet had a stain. The location was poor too. During the rain, the main street flooded up to knee height, yet the hotel couldn't arrange for its Tuktuk to help a customer just 100 meters away reach the entrance. The front desk never mentioned the 300 THB charge for a lost keycard. That makes no sense to me, since nobody would take one home on purpose. Front desk manager Max and team member Big tried to force the charge and scam us, and explained it rudely and impatiently. Terrible experience.

I really didn't like this hotel. The room was too small, uncomfortable and not very clean. The staff were okay, and it's not their fault. I won't come back.
