The location wasn’t ideal, though there are a few nearby places to eat, and blutique, a nice massage spot, is a short walk away. There are shuttle buses to the local station early in the day and one shuttle towards asiatique in the early evening. The pool is open later than at other hotels we’ve stayed at, so an evening dip after sunset is nice, and the city views are great. It’s a functional tarp-style pool with wooden decking, not a flashy one. There’s only one umbrella at a dining table and a small shaded spot, so you’ll bake in the sun otherwise. Food prices seemed decent, but we didn’t eat there. The staff are friendly and laid back. We were charged an extra 200 baht at the end because they’d worked out the price incorrectly, though the stay itself was fine. The room was a good size, with a balcony and drying rack, but no outdoor furniture. There was a bedside table on only one side, so I turned a chair around to use on the other. The bed was hard, the pillows bouncy, the sheets stained, and there was some black mould in the shower. Towels, shampoo, body wash, a toothbrush kit, basic tea and coffee, a fridge, and kettle were provided, but not much else. It’s a fine no-frills budget hotel for a few days, but after a couple of nights I was ready to move somewhere more comfortable.

Room 804 faces the back, where a neighbor has cockerels. They crowed all day, and I heard them as early as 4am. Thank goodness I had industrial earplugs. The location was disappointing, with nothing nearby except lots of street food vendors and no bars or nightlife. The Westwood is a lovely garden restaurant not too far away. The rooftop swimming pool is a great plus. The reception and staff were great. The room was large and had a comfortably firm bed. The bathroom was a good size, but the shower needs hot water, and there looked to be mould around the bottom edges.

The sheets were dirty, and the room smelled strongly of fresh paint. I only asked for clean sheets, not even a room change, but the staff didn’t sort it out. I ended up wasting my money, booking another hotel, and moving out. This doesn’t meet four-star standards, and I wouldn’t recommend it. Either spend a little more for somewhere better or pick a cheaper place if you’re on a budget. This hotel doesn’t justify its price.

The prices are amazing for the location and amenities, and the hotel has modern rooms and a rooftop pool. Everyone was so friendly, and they seemed to enjoy working there. The guy with glasses at reception was especially sweet. He even sent a package for us on his own time since he couldn’t leave the desk during work hours. I’d definitely recommend staying here in Bangkok.
