Newyork Suite Hotel

The place looked nothing like the photos, and as a grown man I was scared to stay there. The walls were frightening, there were holes in the wood, the lamp gave off poor light, and there were no windows. Two huge, fast cockroaches showed up. I struggled to kill them and was afraid to go into the small, scary bathroom. I wanted to save money, but not this much. I've stayed in much better places for the same price. This was frightening to sleep in. I'd paid for two nights, but was ready to give up the money and started looking for another hotel to move to.

Roaches all through the room, a dirty bathroom, cracked furniture, hair in the bed, and no hot water. A really dodgy stay. Don't recommend it, even on a budget. I paid 800 baht for one night. For the same quality, I could have paid 250, or got a real hotel for 800. Don't book.

The location was good, with a hospital nearby and the train station just a few minutes' walk away. Reception was nice when we arrived Saturday night. The elevator looked like an old 1980s model. The room seemed clean at first, but the closet floor had cracks and was broken, and the edges were dusty. The bathroom looked decent until we showered, then we noticed the dirty sink, door, and shower. The fridge door was dirty too, there were strands of hair on the floor, the towel felt dusty, and the old rattan couch was dusty. It felt gross, and I was glad we'd booked only two nights. After a full-day tour, we came back expecting at least some cleaning. Nothing had changed from that morning, and the bathroom was still wet from the morning shower even though we'd been out all day. If you're on a budget and aren't picky, maybe it's okay. For health and cleanliness, it's a no for us. We're never going back.

The bed was comfortable, and the shelves came in handy. Some parts of the room weren't clean, though. The TV had many international channels. Setting the water temperature was difficult because it kept changing on its own. Insects got in through the poorly sealed balcony door, but spraying mosquito repellent around it seemed to stop them somehow.
