Nichada Mansion

The warmth from the owners meant a lot to us, and made the little drawbacks feel minor. The area gave us a chance to stay in a less touristy part of Bangkok. There's a local cafe nearby with a long history. It's been feeding locals and tourists for 50 years, and it's a real gem. The grandmother who founded it had been a chef at a five-star hotel. Duck, chicken, and dumplings are their specialties. The staff were wonderful and very caring. The bed was comfortable, there's an elevator, and the room had a fridge. It was clean, too. We knew when we booked that it was far from the center. Our second-floor windows faced the wall and roof of the neighboring house, which is common in Bangkok. The bathroom and toilet were small.

The owner was very kind and had a professional translator. They even gave us peeled pomelos, which were delicious. There are plenty of local snacks and restaurants nearby, and the hotel is close to various attractions. The room rate was very affordable, so it felt like good value. Our room was tidy and clean. Although the hotel is beside a main road, we didn't hear traffic noise. There's an elevator, too.
