I travel a lot as a digital nomad and book dozens of hotels a year. I left for lunch with a “Don't Disturb” sign up and my things and papers spread around the room. When I came back, staff had gone in to clean. Now I’ve got days of extra work putting everything back in order. What a shame.

The room was cleaned daily and the price was cheap. The hotel was okay, though it felt pretty remote and there wasn’t much nearby.

After a 15-hour journey, I arrived to find that they’d cancelled my one-night booking because I was going to check in late. They said I’d have to book again for that day and pay an extra early check-in fee if I wanted to stay. I tried explaining that I was exhausted and sleep-deprived, but they wouldn’t listen. I can’t comment on the rooms or their professionalism, but I found their response lacking in humanity.

I liked the service. The receptionist was helpful when I found a cockroach in my room and arranged to have it cleaned again, though the building needs a more lasting fix. The place is worn down, and the corridor on the 8th floor was dirty every day. My AC sounded like an Airbus engine 😂. I did manage to sleep, but light sleepers might have a real problem. There isn’t much around the hotel. PROUD, a Thai/Chinese restaurant, is a great find about a 6-minute walk away. FigureGround Cafe is around 9 minutes on foot and has amazing coffee. A 7-Eleven is 3 minutes away. The main door gets closed at 10 PM, so get the code from reception or you might not be able to get out. I have no idea how I guessed it. You can scan your room card to leave.
