Oldtown Hostel

Everything was well air-conditioned, a godsend in the Thai summer. The hostel also has cheap laundry, kitchen appliances, and free luggage storage for 30 days. We didn't get to try the attached restaurant, but there are plenty of highly rated places serving great food within a 10-minute walk. The place was awesome, super clean and spacious, and the main station was a very useful 15-minute walk away. The free Sunday brunch was delicious and freshly made, with a great veggie option. My boyfriend and I both had two servings.

I stayed here twice and couldn't have asked for better. The location is convenient, right by Chinatown and Bangkok's train station. There was a large common area, clean bathrooms with separate showers and toilets, AC, lockers in every room, and good public PCs. The staff were friendly, and one of them even took me to a local internet cafe and dinner. Thanks, Sunny, and thanks, Oldtown! Pro tip: ask for 40 baht lady at the reception. She's just around the corner and makes the most delicious food for only 40 baht.

The rooms feel spacious, the staff are warm and helpful, and there's a really good coffee shop on site. It's a peaceful place to unwind while still being close to central Bangkok. Not the cheapest option, though still easy on the budget. A few showers could use maintenance, but there are plenty of them.

The upstairs cinema room was a nice spot to relax, and the staff were friendly. There’s also a pool table, though you have to pay for it, just 20 baht, but those charges add up. A few DVDs were scratched too. Otherwise, it’s a lovely, very clean hostel that reminded me a bit of university halls.
