Orchid Place

The room wasn't clean, and there was black mold across the ceiling, the walls, and the bathroom. The toilet didn't flush properly, though I managed to get it working with some effort.

The deluxe room was spacious and felt almost luxurious, with a large attached bathroom. It had a cushioned wooden chair, wardrobe, TV, AC, and work table. The location is another plus: Nana station is nearby, Nana complex is only a few meters away, and a short walk of about 50 meters gets you to lively Nana Lane with its bars and restaurants.

I was told I could stay until 2 PM after asking for a late checkout because of my very late flight. Then at 11:40 AM someone knocked and said checkout was noon, and 2 PM would cost 200 Baht. Agoda listed my checkout as 1 PM, too. The mattress was hard as stone and there were lots of mosquitoes in the room. Never again.

I booked a Double Deluxe Room through Agoda expecting basic cleanliness and comfort, and got neither. The room smelled and was dirty, the furniture was dusty and very old, and when my phone slipped under the bed I found used tissues, water bottles, and thick dust. The towels felt like rugs. There was no elevator, the bed was hard, the water heater didn't work properly, and the rusty bidet didn't feel safe or hygienic. With no exhaust fan or window in the toilet, the smell spread through the room. Neighbors cooked dried fish in the middle of the night, and without proper ventilation the smell came into my room. There were also lots of mosquitoes. The staff at Orchid Place were rude and unwelcoming. The elderly woman on the morning shift was particularly rude and unprofessional, and didn't smile or greet guests. This was the worst accommodation I've ever had and it ruined my Bangkok vacation. This place shouldn't be called a hotel, and doesn't deserve even one star.
