Palette Hi Hotel Bangkok

The air conditioning worked really well, but that was about the only saving grace. My room hadn’t been cleaned at check-in. There was a chunk of food next to the phone, the floor and counter were dirty with scuffs and coffee marks, the shampoo and body wash hadn’t been refilled, and the towel rack was falling apart. I booked through Airbnb, and the listing didn’t say it was a hotel, though it promised daily housekeeping. No one came for the first two days. On day two I asked for the room to be cleaned and the towels replaced, but neither happened. I called again when I got back at 5:30 p.m. and the receptionist, who sounded nice, said they’d send someone right away. Nearly an hour passed and nobody showed up. I shouldn’t have had to chase them several times after they promised to send help. I rarely write reviews, but this was one of my most unpleasant stays. I don’t know how this place is still in business.

My reservation at Palette Hi Hotel was for December 27 to 30, booked well ahead for the last few days of my Bangkok trip. I’d received confirmation that everything was set. After my flight was delayed twice and I struggled to find a taxi, I arrived exhausted, and nobody properly greeted me. I had to explain that I was there to check in. The receptionist said the hotel was full. I showed my Booking.com reservation and proof of confirmation, but she ignored it and said a system error meant I was out of luck. There was no apology and no alternative offered. I felt dismissed and unheard. It was already late, and finding decent accommodation at the same price at year’s end was nearly impossible. I had no choice but to book a more expensive place about 600 meters away. They treated me well there, thankfully, but to be safe I booked two nights. That ended up costing almost twice what I’d originally paid, and I was deeply frustrated. If Palette Hi Hotel had told me about the issue beforehand, I would’ve understood. The way they handled it was unacceptable, though, and I’m very unhappy with the experience. People can make their own choice, but I strongly advise against booking here.

My friend and I landed in Bangkok and went straight to the hotel to check in, but the staff said their system showed no booking from any platform. Other guests were also sent to new places arranged by the hotel and had to book again. It was New Year’s Eve, when prices at other hotels had more than doubled, or gone up even more. We’d booked through Trip.com, but the counter staff insisted we didn’t have a booking. Our plans were thrown off. After my friend patiently worked it out with Trip.com, they finally found our reservation. Then the front desk called us back to say they had it, but the payment platform hadn’t paid them yet. What a miserable way to end 2025 😫. The hotel is now called "Palette Hi Hotel Bangkok". Our Superior king room was just two single beds pushed together. We had a really bad experience here.

The woman at the lobby was so nice and sweet. I paid 27€ for one night in a supreme room with a king size bed. The room was big, checkout was late, and the balcony had a good view. There’s a 7/11 just 150 meters away.
