PAMA House Boutique Hostel

PAMA house worked out really well for my two-month stay in June-July, 2025. I spent some of that time in a third-floor room and some in the fourth-floor dorms. PA and her family were caring, always smiling, and easy to talk to in English. Their hospitality made a long stay much easier. There are several types of accommodation to choose from, including dorms, single rooms, a terrace room, and an entire two-bedroom floor. Long-stay discounts are available, and you can pay by card or cash. I found it good value for money. The location is convenient for 7/11, a bus stop, vegan restaurant, Indian store, local street vendors, petrol station, bike station, a park, Saphan Taksin bridge, and the riverbank. BTS is a little farther away, about a 10-15 minute trip. The facilities are good: clean, roomy shared areas and bathrooms, air conditioning in every room, kitchen and kitchenette with a refrigerator, kettle, and toaster, plus WiFi on each floor. There is also main-door security, CCTV, an open rooftop garden, hot showers at any time, and a TV. A few drawbacks: there's no laundry or drying service, and cooking with an electric stove isn't allowed. Traffic can get noisy, and vehicles sometimes make the dorm bunk beds shake, which can feel like a massive earthquake. There's no lift, so hauling big bags up to the fourth or fifth floor is hard.

We stayed in the top-floor room, with a rooftop terrace right outside. There’s a little kitchen up there, plus a regular kitchen downstairs with fridges, kettles, and a stove. We liked making our own breakfast, though Thai breakfast is available to order too. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a wardrobe, desk, and a big bed. The pillows and duvet were comfortable. The bathroom had a separate shower stall and reliable hot water. They brought fresh water each day, emptied the trash, and changed our towels during our five-night stay. For the price, the service and comfort were really good. The river is close, and there are loads of street kitchens, restaurants, and convenience stores nearby. We enjoyed taking the bus and ferry across the river. BTS is a bit far, but the location suited us, and Icon Siam is walkable. The owner, I think, was very sweet and helpful. This was our favorite place in almost three months in Asia. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

The hostess made us feel welcome, and the staff were friendly and pleasant. Our room matched the photos exactly, and we had a wonderful holiday. Just keep in mind that every floor is reached by stairs, with no elevator. Staff can help carry luggage up if needed. Thanks for a lovely stay.

The host was really friendly, and the place was super clean and just as advertised. Bathrooms and showers were spotless. The beds felt a little firm, but it was peaceful and safe for sleeping. I'd definitely return.
