Ratchathewi Hyde Away

The staff were polite and friendly, and the rooms were huge and clean, with a big tub and good water pressure. It's close to the busy spots and within walking distance of pratunam, yet tucked quietly in an alley. We stayed three nights and asked for room service. It happened only once; on the other days they just topped up the drinking water, snacks, and toilet paper. The bathroom flooded, but kind staff fixed it after I told reception. They said hair was clogging the drain trap, though they claimed room service had cleared it. The bed felt too soft, like I sank into it, and the wifi was terribly slow. The AC also tended to get warm in the middle of the night. We only turned it on after coming back from each day's outing.

The host and the lady boss's mother were what made the stay so special. They were incredibly caring toward the three of us and went out of their way to help. Auntie even told off a rude Grab driver for us and helped us buy fresh local produce at a reasonable price. We were really grateful. The hotel is down a small alley, so it stays peaceful and away from main-road noise. We also found the room very spacious, thoughtfully laid out, and stocked with plenty of amenities. Ratchathewi and Phaya Thai stations are both walkable, as are Central World and the Siam area. There are two good massage parlours and several 7-Eleven outlets nearby. We had a fantastic stay and would gladly return.

The fifth-floor room was comfortable and well designed, and the outdoor bathtub was a fantastic touch that made the stay special. Everything was extremely clean, and the location is excellent, right beside a large 7-11. The team were all kind and welcoming, and really made us smile. For the price, it's one of the best options in the city. We had a wonderful stay, would come back, and can truly recommend it.

The wifi was the main downside. YouTube kept buffering, and the internet TV in the room was slow too. The staff's service, the room, and the location were all things I loved. They even went out of their way to track down my wife's food delivery after it was dropped at the wrong place. There are lots of nice cafes nearby, just check Google Maps. If you're taking a Grab in a wide car, it's best to get out on the main road instead of asking the driver to squeeze down the narrow street.
