It’s a quiet little base for a Bangkok trip, set off the main drag so it’s peaceful when you’re ready to turn in. Since it’s an Air BNB, there’s no staff, linen changes or towel service. The pool is nothing special, but it’s fine for cooling off on a slow afternoon. The gym has very limited equipment, so I’d use one in town instead. We sometimes had trouble getting Grab pickups because the one-way street was backed up. I’d walk to the BTS station for transit.

The fixtures and furniture were dated and dirty, and some were literally falling apart or held together with masking tape. The gym was in the same shape. The pool wasn’t attractive, with only two sunbeds, and the downstairs common area by the key boxes was dirty and dilapidated. The apartment offered across the hall didn’t smell of mildew, but it was still dirty, with oily stains on the sofa and disgusting marks on one bed’s headboards. I left and went to a nearby hotel, which was absolutely lovely and not much more expensive. I’d booked this place for two while travelling with a friend, but she unexpectedly had to go home. I planned to stay alone, and the host didn’t know that. We’d already paid in full. The first apartment hit me with a really bad smell as soon as I walked in: old, oily cooking, stale smoke despite the no-smoking policy, and worst of all, mildew. The cooking odor came from the kitchen, the smoke smell from one bathroom, and the second, ensuite bathroom was completely unusable because of mould and mildew. It stank, and there was a large mouldy patch on the ceiling. That can’t be good for anyone’s health. I spoke with Airbnb and the host, and he offered me the other apartment across the hall. The place was truly awful, so bad that I had to leave. I also suspect some of the 5* reviews here are fake. My advice is to avoid it.

I was worried after reading the other reviews, but our apartment was in good shape and, thankfully, had no mold. The rooms were very clean and convenient, and it was surprisingly quiet for the area. We had an excellent experience.

It’s a handy location, with shops and restaurants just a 3-5 minute walk away. The staff work hard and provide good service. Rooms are small, but they have a kitchenette, AC and a bathroom.
