Rimklong Hostel - Adults Only

The rooms overlooking the river are really nice, and they change the mattress for each new guest and presumably wash it too. It’s a good little hostel for meeting other travelers, north of China Town, with super friendly staff. We had a good experience overall. We had a small checkout problem because the car service we requested didn’t arrive at the agreed time. The staff helped, and we mostly got out without incident. The owner wasn’t great about it, but the staff were, and I think it was mostly a miscommunication rather than malice.

The hostel is small, which gives it a nice family feeling, and the staff were the best, helping with everything. I forgot a pair of shoes there, and they sent them to another Bangkok hotel where I had an airport stopover at night two weeks later. It’s in a quiet spot close to Khao San Road. Breakfast is simple but good, with toast, different spreads or cornflakes, and the beds are comfortable.

The breakfast is free and basic, with eggs and bananas, and a great view over the canal. The beds are very nice for a hostel, though not as plush as a hotel bed, so set your expectations accordingly. It’s clean and well located, around the corner from The Golden Mount and maybe a 10-15 minute walk from Khaosan Rd. They emailed clear directions, including the boat taxi option, and kept in touch when my arrival was delayed. After checkout, the desk staff watched my bags, and when I came back for them, they kindly let me shower before my flight. I like trying different places, so I may or may not return, but I’d recommend it to friends. It would be my go-to for a last night before a flight, since the water taxi and rail link beat traffic. The hostel is near central Bangkok, with a ferry to the center departing a one-minute walk away. Gold Mountain is about five minutes on foot. Breakfast is included, with toast, eggs, coffee, tea and jam.
