Riva Arun Bangkok

After spending hours searching for somewhere without the kinds of problems people described elsewhere, I found this hotel and booked three nights. We were willing to pay about what we'd pay in the States, provided breakfast was included and the location was good. On arrival, the staff welcomed us with tasty tea and kept our luggage while the room was being prepared. Everyone we met, from reception and breakfast to housekeeping, was cheerful, kind, helpful, and professional. The room was very clean and comfortable, with fresh towels, made beds, and bottled water each day. Breakfast was generous, with fresh coffee that kept coming, and a 270-degree view of temples and passing boats. We honestly couldn't have asked for more. We feel lucky to have stayed here, and are so grateful.

I've stayed at Riva Arun twice and plan to come back. The area is lively, with river ferries close by and plenty of popular sights within walking distance. The rooftop restaurant is excellent, the room is comfortable, and the staff are wonderful. Rates are very reasonable for what you get.

The location right on the river worked perfectly for us as first-time visitors. We could walk to all the main Bangkok temples, and the staff were friendly. We only ate breakfast at the nice rooftop restaurant, but I'd say it's worth paying extra for a room facing Wat Arun.

We've stayed at Riva Arun twice because we love the neighborhood, and the hotel makes a great base for visiting some of the best-known sights in Kroong Thaehp (Bangkok). The staff are fabulous and really go out of their way. After booking, we were able to upgrade to a Grand Deluxe Jacuzzi room overlooking the river, directly facing Wat Arun. It was wonderful and well worth the extra cost. Dinner at the rooftop restaurant was sensational, with beautiful views across the river to Wat Arun, over the boats of all shapes and sizes, and back toward Wat Po temple and the Royal Palace. Already looking forward to returning!
