S Bloc Saladaeng

The self-service check-in and check-out worked well, and I really enjoyed staying in this apartment hotel. It’s tucked into a small alley in soi sala daeng, which keeps it quiet, but you’re still close to everything in Silom/Sathorn and public transport. Hard to beat that location.

Getting around was easy, with Lumpini, MRT, BTS and Silom nearby, and Grab could pick us up out front or at the Yammorat/SalaDaeng corner. The place had good WiFi and water pressure, great air con, and a secure door and lock. S Bloc was nice for the price. Construction out front was noisy, but only during appropriate hours. Check-in went well once we worked out the safe numbers, and cleaning was available when we needed it. The rooftop laundry is stairs only, so do it while the day is still cool. We did have two huge roaches, including one that walked over my toes, but hey, it's Thailand. I’d definitely stay at SBloc again.

The rate was cheap and affordable for four days and three nights, and the check-out time was reasonable, so there was no need to rush right after waking up. The place is between the Metro and BTS. There’s no lift, so I wouldn’t stay above level 2. This area may flood during the rainy season.

The room was large and very clean, and the building felt secure. Air conditioning and free WiFi were good, and it’s close to transport. The name has changed and there are no street signs, so the Fatboy sushi photo can be confusing: that’s the building on the corner, not this hotel. Reception could be better, depending on who’s working. Our shower was broken the first night but fixed the next day. Luckily, the room has two showers.
